Echo House
A family home woven into a Bali hillside.
One of a kindA home shaped by the slope, the trees and the way a family lives.
Upcoming videoAt Green Village in Bali, Echo House brings bamboo, wood, stone, glass and terrazzo together beneath a sweeping roof. Elora Hardy takes us through a family home designed around its hillside setting and the people who live there.
The route begins above the house and descends through open living spaces towards the garden and pool. Trees, changes in level and views shape how the rooms connect. Spaces open to the landscape sit alongside more enclosed places for privacy and rest.
Play is part of the architecture. The children's routes, small retreats and a slide make moving through the house an experience of discovery. Craft and personal objects give each room its own character, from woven screens to commissioned porcelain lights.
Our upcoming video follows Elora through the design decisions behind Echo House, from the building's relationship with the landscape to the details that support everyday family life.
