For fourteen years, one man has rescued the hydraulic tiles thrown out of Barcelona's old flats, and is building the city's first tile museum from what he saved.

Every renovated flat in Barcelona throws a small piece of the city into a skip. Joel Cànovas has spent fourteen years pulling those tiles back out, over four thousand of them, and is now opening the first museum dedicated to them.

A video about obsession, craft, and what a city decides is worth keeping. Our first Barcelona story. In production for 2026.
