Oost-Duinkerke

Three volumes, red timber, the Belgian dunes.

Oost-Duinkerke · Belgium2026Documentary
Oost-DuinkerkeIn production · 2026

A red-stained timber house near the Belgian coast, split into three volumes by the dunes around it, designed by an architect for his own family.

When the municipality wouldn't allow one large volume, the constraint became the concept: three connected timber houses, stained Swedish red, sitting in a transplanted dune garden a few steps from the sea.

Designed by Silo Architectuur for the architect's own family, it's a house built from a limitation, exactly the kind of story we love. In production for 2026.
